Square Foot Gardening

Category: ,

Aside from the time and energy required to grow a successful garden, one of the biggest challenges for all of us is the space, or lack thereof. One of the best solutions to the space problem (and even the time problem as well!) is the square foot gardening method. Developed by Mel Bartholomew, square foot gardening flips the script of traditional row gardening, and uses a 4×4 foot space to yield an impressive variety of plants.

In the video above, there is a mention of companion planting. Especially in a small space garden, the proper combination of seeds can make or break your yield. Incompatible plants can drain nutrients from each other, but plants that compliment each other can lead to quite an impressive yield! Here are some helpful tips from Walden Labs on what plants work well together, and more importantly which ones do not. Make sure to share what works for you!
